FT: Spector NS-5 Fretless

Sign in to disble this ad
Here are the specs...
Manufactured 2-22-09 Woodstock, NY
Quilted Maple body wings
Eastern Rock Maple neck
Unlined Ebony fingerboard, 34" scale
EMG DC40 pickups
Spector (Haz-Lab) 18v preamp (config: Volume, Blend, concentric Bass-Treble)
Gotoh GB-7 tuners
Spector brass locking bridge, 17mm spacing
Schaller strap locks
Weight is approx. 10.3 lbs
Spector hard shell case

Here are some pictures...

As you can see it is in pretty good shape. It does have a couple dings and scratches. I will get some pics when the lighting is good enough to show the blemishes. The fingerboard has only minor grooving.

Here is what I'm looking for...
I am looking for something lighter. I have never given much thought to instrument weight. Then my back started to head south. Things change. Well, since this is my only fretless I would like to replace it with another fretless. However, I will consider all trades. Boutique, name brand, fretted 4,5,6... A lightweight fretless Stingray would be nice (I can dream can't I?!). Interested in Zon basses.
Of course if sanity prevails I will take this down.
Thanks.

How much in $$$ (shipped)? Buy another fretless.

34" scale?!
Is that a special order, Kramer era or a post SSD transition (1999) model?

Case?

I have updated the listing. You can special order 34" scale, however, it is a $500.00 upcharge.

I knew you could. Just didn't realize they upcharge you for it. I never checked into it because I would never consider it as I actually prefer 35" scale on 5's and 6's.

So.......how much in $$$?
Case?
(I'll just keep asking until you give in. )

One of my absolute favorite basses. It is so gorgeous. Good luck finding something that will thrill you as much as this one certainly did.

Best,
Justin

Any interest in a:

(Fretless) 1988 4-string MIJ Fender Jazz Bass? (no fret lines)
Black w/ White pickguard, ridiculously amazing condition, doesn't look 23 years old at all. No pics, but I have a video of me playing it on YouTube. I'd include a black gig back with a fuzzy pink interior.

This is a pretty light bass, in my opinion. And obviously, has that distinct, super thin Japanese neck.

YouTube - Mark Michell playing "Shadows" by Tetrafusion on Fretless Bass

Something lighter??
Here's something out of left field for your consideration:
Ovation Elite B5768 Acoustic/Elec 5 String Bass. Rare!! - eBay (item 180644808755 end time Apr-01-11 19:35:31 PDT)

I'd probably be better off if you said "no" as the Wife is expecting me to sell this.
