FT/FS: Stinger SBX (P copy by C.F. Martin)

FT/FS is this relatively rare Stinger Bass produced by the C.F. Martin Company in the early 80s (I think). These bases were assembled overseas but then set up and inspected in the USA by Martin.

I've had this bass for ages, but I've never sold it because the neck is so awesome. It's a ramrod straight P width neck with slim fret wire and plays great. I've decided to part ways with this bass because I have recently, and somewhat inexplicably, fallen under the spell of maple fretboards. I simply must have them. A strange neurosis I know...

Pros:
- Neck is awesome!
- Rare, and maybe even collectible (if you're into that sort of thing)
- Only one knob (less confusing!)
- Paint and finish still look great
- Hard case included (It's a locking case, but I don't have the key, so I only use the middle latch...)

Cons:
- Only one knob = no tone control
- Volume pot is sometimes scratchy

I learned how to play bass on a P/J Stinger and loved it. Sadly, I got rid of it while I was in high school and have started to regret it when I saw this post. How much would a cash offer need to be? Just curious.

Bump to say I'm open to trades of all forms of musical gear, not just other basses. I'm partial to bass overdrives and any other boxes that emit crazy sounds, synths, and even g****rs.

Let me know what you've got!

Can't really tell the color... is it full out black or is it some sort of dark gray/pewter color?

It's actually a dark green with some sparkle going on. The paint is in great shape. I'll try to get a better picture after work today.

Hey, you know what? I just now looked at your pictures again on a different monitor and I can now tell the greenish part. Not the sparklies though. Still looking around for something you might be interested in as a trade. Always wanted a Martin. /lol

I uploaded another picture with the bass partially in the sun and partially in the shade. In it you can sort of make out the tiny sparkes/flakes that are in the paint. It's definitely not a simple solid green. I hope this helps!
