FT/FS is this relatively rare Stinger Bass produced by the C.F. Martin Company in the early 80s (I think). These bases were assembled overseas but then set up and inspected in the USA by Martin.
I've had this bass for ages, but I've never sold it because the neck is so awesome. It's a ramrod straight P width neck with slim fret wire and plays great. I've decided to part ways with this bass because I have recently, and somewhat inexplicably, fallen under the spell of maple fretboards. I simply
must have them. A strange neurosis I know...
Pros:
- Neck is awesome!
- Rare, and maybe even collectible (if you're into that sort of thing)
- Only one knob (less confusing!)
- Paint and finish still look great
- Hard case included (It's a locking case, but I don't have the key, so I only use the middle latch...)
Cons:
- Only one knob = no tone control
- Volume pot is sometimes scratchy
