FT- Tobias 6 1994 (GIbson)

Sign in to disble this ad
I had a trade worked out but due to logistical trouble it didn't happen. So it's back on the block:

1994 Gibson Tobias Basic 6 #2221
Neck-Purpleheart and Curly Maple
Body-Lacewood
Fretboard-Pau Ferro
Bartolini PU's
Bartolini 3 band EQ w/Slap switch
Using the bathroom scale method-10Lbs
Spacing = 16mm
It also has Purpleheart Pre and Truss covers as well as the original black ones.
Original well used HSC that's all nicked up but all the latches and hinges work great.
This baby is in very good condition and stunning to look at.
The flame on the neck and grain of the body are gorgeous.
A few very minor nicks. They are tough to see in person.
The bridge has a fair share of mung on it but no issues.
It plays great and sounds great.
As far as what I'm after:
4 or 5 strings as I can't hang with all this neck, otherwise I'm pretty open. Fretted or fretless, old or modern. It must play nice! I'd prefer on the narrower side but you never know...

Sound clips+++

Clips added. Also I think the switch is an active/passive switch and not a slap switch, whatever that is.

The switch should be a mid frequency selector. The "slap switch" should engage when you pull up on the volume knob. If this is the NTMB preamp.
