FT/Tobias Designed Gibson Fretless 5

I've been wanting to try some other stuff out besides my Schecter Stiletto 5 and want to see if anybody's interested in this. I bought this bass off the bay about 4 years ago and I just don't play it as much as I thought I would. Has a good sound to it and is beautiful to look at. 5 piece neck through with maple body. I believe it's a foreign made bass but not sure where, somebody else is selling the twin to this thing right now and says it's Korean so maybe so...

Take Note!!!
It does have a hairline crack between the neck and upper body that starts just above the neck pickup and goes up around the back and stops about 5 inches from the strap knob. It looks like the neck lam swelled a little bit but the body didn't. You can't feel it until you get to the back. The crack doesn't affect the tone as far as I can tell.
Aside from that it has a little ding on the top front edge of the headstock and I found a tiny little black spot on the bottom of the body below the knobs. Also a couple of belt marks on the back that could probably be wiped off. Maybe I just need to clean the thing and see. It also has some string marks on the fretboard mostly on the B and E string but they are really pretty minor. I guess the previous owner had rounds on it.
I'm looking to "trade up", I estimate the value of this bass with crack and all to be in the $600 range and would like to go up to the $800-$1000 range so if you have a Warwick, Jazz style or even a MM style 5 or maybe 4 string fretted. Really anything different than my Schecter will be considered, with cash from my end of course.
So if I don't get any bites on it I think I'm going to get the crack fixed, epoxy the FB, switch out the pickups and electronics and change the finish to a blue or ruby burst. Pretty much just have a science project for a few months.

I didn't even see this ding at the top of the headstock till I posted this pic

This is where the crack is most noticeable starting a few inches below the heel and going down toward the strap knob

Don't think that's a Gibson Tobias. Looks a lot like the imports brought in by Music Yo several years ago.

You could be right. I haven't been able to find much info on it but I thought all of the ones with the logo on them were gibson, obviously not original Tobias's from back in the day but still gibson basses, imported or not. If anybody has any more info I would appreciate it.

closing it up

You know what? Screw it, I'm gonna keep this thing and switch out the electronics and such and see what kind of a cool finish I can come up with for it. It plays really well as it is so I'm gonna see how much better I can get it to sound and just have it be my fretless for a few years til I can come up with the funds for something else, or just slowly start getting my dream hardware over the next couple of years and make my own basses. Thanks for the info guys. Rob
