Ft Trade - Transformed EBMM Sub 4 string

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, check it out. I bought a very used Sub 4 string awhile back, stripped it, carved in body and forearm contours, installed a Nordstrand MM pup, had a set of "new" NOS Stingray tuners that I bought a long time ago and never used and installed them. Shot the bass in Nitro Surf Green along with the headstock and finished the back of the neck in gun oil just like EBMM. Changed the black pick guard that was already on the bass to a Tort guard. The pickup is in series mode. I like it best that way. It goes very deep and you can still spank it if you want. The bass was beat up real good when I got it so there are dimples you can see on the back of the bass when you turn the bass in the light but they do not show up well in the pictures. But they are there. I would rate the bass in 8 out of 10 condition. The body wood was not in the greatest condition and I didn't want to sand to deep trying to get them out. the weight is right around 9.4 lbs. on my digital bathroom scale. It really is a hell of a nice bass. It comes with the beat up gig bag that I got it in. It protects it well for shipping but it's a beater.
I'm looking to straight trade it for Fender P Bass. Prefer Sunburst with a Rosewood fingerboard (Highway One?) or maybe a road worn P Bass and I would like the bass to be under 9 lbs. 8 pounds would be nice (I know, right) If it's a Highway One P you have I would prefer the older model with the knurled saddles. A cool parts bass (no Mighty Might) would maybe spark my interest also.
The pictures show the Sub to be more blue than it really is. It is in fact "Surf Green"

What is the knob layout?

Is it possible to add a series/parallel switch to this one? (I'm new to the active thing)

I have had some PM's with questions as well as the posted ones. I'll answer them here.

1.The frets are really good no worries there at all.

2. The Sub headstocks are painted black and have white lettering. I made a photo copy from a headstock picture online then in my paint program re-sized it and changed the letters to black an made my own water-slide decal. The decal went on first and then the headstock got 6 coats of clear satin nitro.

3. Not for sale right now but might consider it if I can't find a trade.

4. Controls are EBMM 2 band pre. Vol/treb/bass

5. Not sure about adding a active/passive switch.
