G&L L1000 1981 (L1K, wunkay, GandL)

I fell in love last week.....with a vintage Fender.....so after internal anguish I've decided to put my L1K on the block. Hate to do it, Got to do it. I just got her about a month ago from another TB'er. It is all that and then some...man's bass. Amazing maple 1&11/16 nut. I would estimate that weight is just under 10 lbs. All original. A few wear marks that I captured in the pics. It has a beautiful crazing that doesn't come though in the pics. Stung with a new set of Circle K Balanced 118's, (yes, 118's) no fretbuzz, low action....and it Thumps. Comes with functional non-original Black HSC.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Also, Making a request to L1000 vets. A few days ago I tried playing around with an on-board preamp. ( I know, sacrilegious ) Anyway I took it apart and damned if I can't get it back together again. I've looked at the schematic from G&L and it appears that it is wired correctly...however no sound is coming through. I am not an expert solderer, but I imagine this is a quick fix, check out the last 2 picasa pics... Any help would be greatly appreciated. <<<<<<<<<EDIT 8/22 Update-----corrected and working fine.

$900 shipped Con US.

No trades please
thanks,
TLV

Back and Better than ever.

Wiring was restored to stock by Mark at Erlewine Guitars in Austin. (Since the posting I've moved from Cbus to Atx.) It's ready to go. $900 shipped.

thanks

Wow, I started her life on TB and had I not just found the HOG/maple L1K first brood, she would come back home again. This is one of the smoothest playing basses I have ever held and the depth of her sound are unreal. I wish you were looking for trades, I would be tempted.....

Krustwell, Yes it does look like your old L1k, and still holding up well. Fantastic bass, so bump for this one which should be equally nice. Nats look so much nicer in person.

hey man! that red SB-1 is still holding up, as well! G&L's tend to last forever...and sound great in the process.

someone should take the plunge and get their 1st G&L today...this one.

Also.
During the repair the original red switch was replaced with a black one. It functions identically. The original red switch that was removed will also be included.

I have a very similar bass, but an L-2000. Wish it were up for trades or I had more cash! Good luck with the sale!

that's fine looking!

if I didn't have to pay my next semester next month I'd be all over it.
she would also look pretty nice next to my ash/maple 1980 MM Stingray :-)
