According to the only specs I could find on the internet the nut is 1 3/4 ...I dont have a ruler handy right now

wow...don't see these every day.
i believe these are the same nut width and string spacing as an L2500...

IIRC- these actually have the same profile as the 4 string necks, giving them very close string spacing. Never owned one, but that aspect of it always fueled my GAS for one.

You're right, the spacing is tighter at the nut and the bridge compared to the L2500. I have a couple of these and the L5000 is hands down my favorite P5. Super comfortable neck IMO, in fact I've always wished for a L2500 with the L5000 neck. It's thinner front to back than the more chunky L2500 neck.
