G&L Tribute 2500 *SOLD

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD

For sale: G&L Tribute 2500 in Cherry Sunburst. It has very little play time and has never left the house. While it sounds good, its not my sound nowadays. 20 yrs ago it very much was.

I removed the springs from under the pups and replaced with foam to kill that annoying "spring ping" that G&L still refuse to address in their design. Otherwise, electronics are untouched.

Will ship in its G&L deluxe gig bag. $400 shipped. PayPal or USPS Money Order accepted. If paid with USPS MO I will donate $15 of it to Talkbass. Better spent here than PayPal!

That's a beauty. The Tribute has to be one of the all time best bang for the buck basses ever.

It looks like it could be short...but is the string spacing similar to a Lakland 55-01? I think 19mm.

I don't think the 5's are as wide as Laklands.

Amazing basses. I've hardly touched any of my other basses since I traded for mine!

It looks short because of the angle the bass is sitting.
Cool bass! I had one that I never should have gotten rid of.

Damn Tim, I was just looking at these yesterday. That is VERY tempting. I would rather have a maple fretboard though.

Here is my bump for a good seller.

Hey Dawg,

15 yrs ago I would have agreed w/you. But I personally don't like that bleached/unfinished maple look that has been used for the past decade or more. I guess I am one of few old schoolers who like the ambered maple w/heavy gloss finish even on the back of the neck.

Have you installed those p/u's yet?

G&L's and MusicMan's have the same sizing for the 5 strings - 1.75" at the nut and 17.5mm at the bridge.
