Leo Fender design, the L2k/L2.5k models have dual MFD humbucking pickups. 3-way pickup control toggle, series/parallel switch, passive/active/active+treble boost 3-way toggle. Pretty much a tone monster. The pickups tend to run pretty hot.
I've never played a tribute model, but they have the same electronics. This particular bass has a pretty sexy burst finish. I like!

* Swamp ash body.
* The 3-tone sunburst is seriously beautiful. Photos were taken on my front porch in full sunlight so it really shows off the gloss of the finish and wood stain.
* Neck width is 1.75" at the nut
* Two humbucker pickups, volume, bass/treble cut, 3-way pickup selector, series/parallel, 3-way preamp switch (active w/treble boost, active, passive).
* This bass loves to be looked at. As you can see it's a very beefy looking bass, very eye catching thanks to the large bridge, large pickups with large pole pieces, big tuners, etc. A huge contrast to my wife's Ibanez 690 which is subdued in trans-black with black hardware. |

* Lighter than a T-40 which was the heaviest of all instruments I've ever personally owned
* Slightly heavier (couple lbs maybe?) than a Schecter Diamond J
* Much, much heavier than my wife's Japanese Ibanez 690. Though that bass is silly dainty and light. Feels like a toothpick tinker toy compared to the instruments I tend to choose. |
