Bump.

If you don't get any more interest in it right now, perhaps repost it in January, maybe I could do something then. Otherwise, best of luck on the sale! |

This price is more than I was hoping to pay for one since I had budgeted for a 35 only it still seems like good deal if it's indeed a 1005.
Is it still available? |

I have the fretted version of this, the GWB2, and I also have a GWB1 in the natural finish. These are incredible basses built to Willis' specs featuring very light resonant swamp ash bodies, thin fast necks, and Bartolini electronics custom spec'd for these instruments. These play incredibly well and sound amazing. |

Any other differences you can note about this from the GWB35 will still be welcome to hear.
And it is still available for the price listed? |

I did not like the ebonol fingerboard too much. The GW1 has a nicer, warmer sound compared to the GW35 and it's probably partly due to the ebony fingerboard.
Let me know if interested. |

Is it still available? | A bit more info - the GWB1 is the bass that became the GWB105 and then the GWB 1005. Some differences between them, but each of them has been "Gary's bass", built to his specs, and at the time they were out, they were what he played, stock.
The GWB35 was introduced as a low-price alternative. Different electronics, different woods, different quality of construction. Still a good bass for its price point.
A reasonably good analogy would be that the GWB35 is a Squier VM, and the GWB1 is a Fender American Standard. The VM is a great bass for the price. The AmStd is a great bass, period, and is built to a higher standard of quality with better parts.
I have a GWB1, which I bought used. FWIW, I was doing the same comparison that you were- was planning to get a GWB35, found a GWB1 used, and had no reservations about buying it.
It's a great bass.
