THIS BASS IS SOLD!!! Thank you Stuart! I have a Geddy Lee for sale. You can view detailed photos here: http://www.artofdetail.com/DGHTML/FenderGeddyBass.htm
I am asking $725.00 Shipped in CONUS PRICE DROP 6/21/2010 ****$700.00 CONUS Shipping Included
CIJ. I ended up buying a Precision and due to that, this particular instrument has rarely been played (maybe for a month?) and is extremely well taken care of. Cosmetically, I would rate it at a 9.9 on a 10 scale. It has a very FAINT hairline scratch on the back top horn (hence the 9.9 on the 10 scale). I have noted it in the photos on the web link above. I had the original Fender tuners removed (Fender's didn't stay tuned) and installed Hipshot tuners for more precise and stable tuning. They now stay rock solid in tune now! This is NOT one of the newest ones (selling at Guitar Center for $1200.00) with stenciled fret markers. They are real inlaid in the maple fretboard and are beautifully done. The Badass II Bridge is standard on this instrument and gives you incredible sustain and tone. It has brand new D'Adario strings on it and they were installed within the past 2 months. It has one of the thinnest necks on any Fender bass and plays well....low action and fast and straight as an arrow and not twisted. It comes with a non-Fender case. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this bass. I am only selling it because I have too many basses and do not play this one. I will consider trades but I am VERY picky on my collection. Hard Case Included. I have two other pickguards that came off of another Geddy I parted out that will also be included. They are an original white one, and a black one. Both are used and show signs of use but could be used for a pattern to make a custom pickguard. I will also include these as well. Potential trades: Fender Precision USA, Musicman, Markbass Gear, Fender Precision Deluxe USA....????

It's been upgraded with EMG DC pickups and an Aguilar OBP-3 Preamp.

I agree with you, "screw a Sadowsky" and put the sadowsky preamp and pickups in this bass and you will be happier and your wallet fuller. I have owned one of these and loved the way it felt and played. I did modify mine.
Bump for a great bass

I think I am looking more for a 4 string MusicMan Stingray or perhaps another precision or precision USA Deluxe. Had inklings for an upper scale G&L but don't know much about them

Bump for a great bass | Actually, I think I'd just get the Sadowsky outboard preamp/DI. That way I could use it with my Yamaha (Bartolini pups) and the Geddy - or not. I could have a passive 4 and 5, and an "active" 4 and 5. |

I just ordered an Aguilar preamp for my current 5'er so that takes care of needing a Sadowsky. Now I have money to play with but I'm not sure. Still very tempted. If someone doesn't buy it soon I may have to. |
