Gibson Blackbird - Epi Casady - Brice Explorer

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all,

My name probably won't be familiar to many of you but I've been a member here and at other forums for many years. You can find me as 'OldManC' at the Bass Outpost or 'gcarlston' on eBay. I'm currently downsizing a bit and wanted to try selling a few things on the forums, rather than going the eBay route this time. Thanks for looking.

All prices include shipping/insurance in the continental U.S. I'm also happy to ship internationally, depending on the country and whether USPS postal policies will allow it (with insurance, etc).

Here's what I've got right now:

Gibson Blackbird - $1050 - sold

This one has a small amount of buckle rash on the back (not through the paint). It's also got a small chip on the headstock that includes missing wood. I don't know how hard it would be to patch and blend with the paint being flat black. I'd planned on painting this anyway so the chip was no big deal to me when I got it. Includes original case. No other breaks. The pickup screws have a small amount of rust on the heads. My other Blackbird had the same thing when I got it. No idea why...

Epi Casady - $550 - SOLD

Brice Explorer - $150 - Sold

If anything looks interesting, please let me know. I'm not really interested in trades at the moment, though I may be in the future (I don't buy and sell a lot these days, but I usually go through a few basses a year).

Thanks again for looking!

My Blackbird tends to get rust on the pickup screws also - but my regular Tbird doesnt. Weird...

The Epi is sold and will be on its way to Canada tomorrow.

Yeah, that rust thing is weird. Maybe it was a design feature Nikki insisted on.

No problem. On my bathroom scale the weight says 8.9 pounds. Here are a bunch of pictures. Some I used a flash to highlight the finish (buckle rash on back, and to show how clean the front is). If you need anything specific, please let me know.

The Brice is still available, as is the Blackbird. PM responded to.

I'm not really looking to trade but I'm always open to suggestions. Worst I can do is say no.

Wow, it took me a long time to figure this out....

Anyway, I re-routed the PM to 69'Vette. Thanks MN_Bass, and sorry to both for the confusion!

The Brice Explorer is sold, on its way to Indiana tomorrow. The Epi is on its way to Canada. Now who wants that Blackbird?

My other basses are looking at me with a suspicious look in their eyes...

That's an upgrade in my book! But you're already a virtuoso. Nice pick-up and great deal.
