Gibson EB-650 - Minty Hollowbody Jazz Bass Killer!

Here she is, the bass I lusted over for a decade. Finally got one, and I just don't dig the neck profile - I'm too used to the deep & skinny EB-2 profile - this one is a little wider and more shallow - I'd call it a more 'modern' profile.

Everything else about this bass I love. I call her the 'Jazz Bass Killer' because she can growl with the best of 'em. Pickups are nice and hot.

I had a buyer for a while, but he's finally backed out, so I'm listing her on Talkbass.

She's in practically mint condition (just the slightest bit of finish checking at the neck joint, like every other Gibson I've owned.) No playing wear. Looks like it's been in the case for the last 19 years. Please see the pictures below, as well as check out further pix here: http://picasaweb.google.com/circuits...at=directlink#

I'm open to trades for a 4 string Roscoe, Lakland Skyline Hollowbody, MIJ Fender Jazz, Gibson RD Standard/Custom/CMT, Epiphone 'Scroll' basses and guitars, and any bass with a narrow neck. (Most of those items would be your trade + cash, obviously). Asking price is $2500.

What year is this?

Do you have soundclips? (Of any EB650, I've never heard one before)

I'm assuming this is a Set neck?

I had an EB2 and got rid of it because I didn't like the neck. (Apparently we have opposite tastes)

She's a 1991. Yes, this is a set-neck instrument.

I'm not sure if I have any soundclips. Let me dig around my computer. If not, I can record some this weekend.

In my opinion, the EB-650 sounds much clearer than your typical semi hollow bass. This isn't a 'dark cloud' bass like the EB-2. The maple top, center block, 34" scale and hot humbucker pickups w/ placement closer to the bridge make for a much more defined sound.
