Going shortscale sale!! (2 basses)

Sign in to disble this ad
Bass 1.

90's Kawai RB 115. SOLID 2 piece Koa body. All gold Schaller hardware, including pickups. 1 P, 1 J style. Volume/blend/tone/tone controls with pull-up coil splitter on each tone knob.
Graphite neck, medium action, no truss rod.
Great playing, great sounding bass, about 9 pounds.
***ISSUE WARNING***
For some weird reason, it's lost 1/2 a coil on the J pickup. So, when you have the blend all the way to the J pickup, it's silent. When you pull up the coil splitter, you get sound from the E and A positions on the pickup. Never been dropped, jarred, abused. It's a mystery to me. Since it has an issue, I'm dropping the price from when I had this originally listed.
Asking $400.00 + shipping or best offer

Bass 2.
1987 Peavey Foundation S. Passive P & J Schaller pickups. (Same as the above Kawai. These may have been DiMarzios, not sure.) Good quality pots and wiring, great RW board, and maple neck. Has some nicks and scuffs, I shall not try to gloss over that fact. A great American made bass that totally nails a good P bass sound and makes a darn nice J bass tone as well.
Has had threaded metal inserts put into heel of neck and uses machine bolts to attach to body. Super tight joint.
Asking $260.00 plus shipping or best offer

I am selling because, I have chronic shoulder pan and the reach for a 34" neck (which both of these are) is just adding to the pain. So I'm going short scale.

Would be interested in a possible trade for a nice short scale. (Both of these for a Landing maybe?)

Anyway, on to the pics:

Bump for the Kawai- absolutely great bass and the exact replacement J pickup can be gotten from Kawai or Schaller. Lots of good sounds in that bass!

Are the pickups on the kawai standard sized P and J types?

Kawai- Those schaller/dimarzios are usually humbuckers, which means there are two sets of wires coming off the bridge pickup. I would not be surprised if you pulled the cover plate and found a disconnected wire was your culprit
