Gorgeous Fender Jazz - CAR

Sign in to disble this ad
Fender Jazz Bass, in Candy Apple Red finish with rosewood fretboard and pearl pickguard. I put this bass together with a guitar tech who assembled it from all the best parts we could find. It plays, sounds, and feels amazing. The body is a 2009 Fender Standard chosen for resonance and light weight, wood is alder. The neck is from a 2001 American Standard. It's straight as can be, truss rod works perfectly, and has a beautiful dark rosewood board. It has aged to a bit of a vintage tint. Frets have some minor wear but nothing significant and it plays great.

The neck has Gotoh Res-O-Lite vintage reverse tuners, they are the lightest you can buy, 28:1 ratio and ultra smooth and precise (these sell for $175 a set at Allparts). The bridge is a Fender vintage style with threaded rod saddles. Has a Fender vintage style "F" neckplate.

Pickups are DiMarzio Ultra Jazz - hum canceling with no buzz at all, wide range tone...basically has the Jazz sound but more output, lows, and highs. They're killer. Controls are wired Master Volume, Blend, Master Tone, this setup is MUCH easier to work with onstage than the traditional VVT. Pots are all first rate components and it has a Switchcraft jack.

Body has Dunlop Straploks installed and 2 holes drilled for a bridge cover (included), other than that it's got only minor swirls from playing, no nicks or scratches at all. Weight is 9 pounds exactly and it's perfectly balanced.

It's currently strung with brand new Rotosound 66's. I will also include a new set of Lakland nickel roundwounds.

AND, I will include a Fender American Standard hardshell case (newest style with TSA locks) and a 4" wide Italia custom leather strap in deep red worth over $100, with Straploks installed. I also have the original Fender pickups and tuners.

This is a fantastic Jazz that's fully set up and ready to gig. I have an American Standard too and this one is it's equal in every way, she's just not getting much play time these days.

I'm asking $700 including Fed Ex shipping within USA. Paypal preferred. Possible trades:

Lakland DJ4 in black
Epi Jack Casady in black
Fender Roadworn Precision in sunburst

+1 on Volume, blend, tone. I don't see why they don't come standard like that!
