Greco Rickenbacker 4003 bass

Bought this bass a few months ago. From what I've been told its a early 70's greco ric copy. It was wired in Mono when I bought it so I had a shop replace all the pots and wire it back to stereo. Feel free to ask any questions. I'll do my best to find the answer. No case. $475 shipped.

Hmmm...I've been looking for a Ric-copy for awhile. Greco's seem alright, very similar to the Electra bolt-ons. I will keep this in mind. Free bump for ya.

yep
Flickr has been trying not to have direct links to images
HOWEVER you can still cheat the system

right click and pick a size where it says view all images
then right click again and click view image
then copy and paste the url between the [img] tags

Any markings on it to confirm it is a Greco? It is missing the "GrecoGuitars" Rick style truss rod cover...(which I always thought was clever) anything on the plate? How many truss rods does it have?

No marking and nothing on the plate. I've spent the morning trying to verify that its a Greco only to come to the conclusion that it might be an Electra. Electra seems to have made more bolt on necks. Can anyone help?

You could ask one of the 'experts' over here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=270
I get the feeling that it's an Electra...it's very similar to one I was just looking at.
I'm still interested however...just thinkin' on it.

cool. but not an electra... the Electra bolt necks had full width inlays... except the "transition" ones that were set/bolt...

I don't know what year it is. There are no markings on the bass. When i purchased it I was told its a mid 70's. That's when all the Jap knockoffs came out. Its pretty close on the ric sound.
