GUILD SB-608 Flying Star---pointy 80s American goodness! PRICE DROP

I've started a new thread for this, even though I hate to lose all the nice comments people made in the original thread, because the old thread [here] said "Local Chicago" in the title, but, I've managed to figure out a way to pack this and confirmed that it is not too big to ship via FedEx Ground, so . . . this one is now available to everybody!

Here's one that you don't see every day---maybe not every year. This is an American Guild from around 1986 or so. In the pointy-guitar world, I think you'd be hard-pressed to do better than this one.

This thing just oozes quality and craftsmanship, plays great, and sounds great. Appearance aside, functionally this is a really excellent P/J-configuration bass, that gets the full variety of tones you would expect. Plus, it is in amazing condition. Over 25 years old, and the paint is still intact on all the points! And, it comes with the original form-fitted hardshell case, which is important because good luck finding one to fit it.

If you appreciate the pointy-instrument aesthetic, this is your lucky day! This distinctive, collectible, top-quality American-made bass can be yours for a mere $675 $550 shipped in the continental U.S.

Oh, it weighs approximately 8 3/4 pounds, give or take an ounce or two.

Don't let this one get away!

If you buy this bass, you'll need to be careful not to accidentally impale your guitarist.

Or, that may be yet another attractive feature of this particular instrument.

I'm not a pointy bass guy, but that thing is awesome! Love the headstock and the Schaeller bridge.

Interesting!! I never knew that Guild ventured into the realm of pointedness. I"m not a pointy guy, but I'd love to fondle it for a bit, I bet it plays very nicely. Bump, GLWTS,
