SOLD PayPal shipped CONUSA takes home a nice Ibanez GWB1 Gary Willis signature fretless bass crafted by highly regarded Japanese luthiers back in 1999.
This one is in nice condition. It looks good and plays good but needs a little TLC to be an amazing fretless bass. Everything works as designed. The custom radiused Bartolini GWB1 pickup and Bartolini active electronics work great. The volume knob pulls for passive and the stacked bass/treble knobs dial in the tone. This GWB1 has a real ebony board with maple inlays and a peghead covered with a matching ash veneer.
I describe it as nice condition because it has obviously been played... but not abused. It has a number of little dings and some areas of light worming (scratches with rounded edges) on both the front and back of the body. But because the satin finished ash body has a highly figured grain... it acts as camouflage.
If you are looking for a collector's piece... this is not the one.
If you are looking for an amazing fretless that you can proudly play anywhere without worry... this is definitely the one.
I think it's an awesome way to feel the quality mwahhh of the real deal.... 1st GWB signature bass with only a modest outlay of your hard earned cash.
This is only my second fretless. My first was the lower end GWB35. Having owned both I can unequivacally state that the GWB1 sounds and feels infinitely superior.
I also realize that I need to stick to fretted basses.
I will consider any trade involving a Music Man bass...4 or 5 string... plus or minus cash from either party. I recently picked up a Big Al 5 SSS from another TBer and I have Music Man GAS.
Otherwise... PayPal is KING.
This is just the bass... with no bag or case.
But I will pack it supremely to insure that you receive it with no damage.
