Hondo II double cut gibson style bass.

I have an 80s Hondo 2 double cut bass. It looks like an epiphone olympic. Or Gibson melody maker. It has 1 p pickup. That looks like an old dimarzio with the Allen key pole pieces.
The bass has a Gibson style 3 point bridge. I put new saddles in it. But they need to be filed on the bottom a little to fit snug.
The pots all work. But they need cleaning.
There's nicks and dings on it.

Nope. The scale is measured from the inside of the saddle to the inside of the nut. But it could work out to measure the 12th and then double it on some guitars I guess. Depending on the setup.

But I always do nut to saddle.

E string or G? Nut to 12th fret is consistent, nut to saddle depends on which string you choose and if the bridge is not out of place. Just something I picked up from hanging around luthiers, I won't swear it to be gospel.

I usually go in the middle. Then you will get the general scale +\- a fraction of the measurement depending on inotation.
