Honeyburst Musicman Stingray 4H - $850

Hi all,

cant believe I'm doing this, but since my aquisition of the "lakland stingray" 55-76, I havent touched this awesome bass. It's about a 93 I want to say? Maybe newer, but it's got all my favorite features of mid 90s stingrays, all rolled into one.

It's a honeyburst, with the "flea" style bridge, meaning the strings break over the bridge straight, and no weird angle is applied, but it has the string mutes. I never use the mutes. In fact, the foam bits arent even attached, but here's why I love the string mutes - AWESOME pick holder.

Its a 3 band, fresh battery installed, it has the roller truss rod adjuster too, which is awesome. It just had a minty-fresh refret done at Noll Guitars in RI, who do awesome work, and it has a hipshot D-Tuner installed. Sorry, dont have the original key.

as to condition, it has some bumps, bruises, and the neck is somewhat darkened where the gunstock oil on the back of the neck is. Yes, its more of what people call a Relic these days than one thats been abused. Seriously, this is one of the best stingrays I've played. I just never touch it anymore.

here's a crappy pic of it: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/memb...-new-13306.jpg

I'm looking to get $850 for it. Since I prefer not to ship, if you're local to the Worcester / Boston / Providence area and can either meet me or pick it up, then you'll get a discount!

NO TRADES pls. I need money to buy a synth. in fact, if you happen to have an Access Virus TI, then we can talk trades, but if not, then NO TRADES!

kthx

As the former owner of this bass, I endorse its quality.

This is a beast of destruction and woe. Purchase and be doomed to play the heaviest riffs at great volume. Approximate age is early 90s; the serial number indicated between '92 and '94. I wish I hadn't parted with this bass. After 20+ basses, this instrument is one of 2 (two) that I would actively try to retrieve, funds permitting.

Did they tell you Hipshot makes an exact replacement D-tuner for this bass? .... Looks like a 70's Fender replacement on there.

on hold pending payment- as to Bassmickeyd's question - afaik, hipshot never made a replacement tuner that had the "musicman" key length. that might have changed in the last few years tho.

Mine!

BTW, the Hipshot BT1 Xtender is a perfect retrofit for MM basses.
