I bought this bass here on TB almost 2 years ago, so it will be 3 years old in the spring. The body is all zebrawood with a set maple neck and lined rosewood fingerboard. It weighs in around 8-8.5 lbs and has a really nice thin carved body. The string spacing is narrow-the nut is ~44mm and the bridge spacing is about 17mm on center. It originally had nordstrand singles, but that made the bass too bright for my taste, so I installed the bart 59J1 L1\LN1 pups (wired V/V/T and described at the end of this post). Basically they gave the bass a darker more growly tone that complements the brighness of the zebrawood nicely in my opinion. I have a rough sound clip available upon request. Just send your email address so I can send the attachment.
There is one blemish that is a little dent in the side of the neck that doesn't affect playablility or cosmetics-but you can see it while playing. It is documented in the pic with the arrow below. Also, the nut is cut a little low on the D string, so it buzzes a little too much when played open. It doesn't bother me because I hardly ever play the D or G strings open-but it is worth mentioning.

These are split coil hum-cancelling designs. They have bright Neck tone and deep Bridge tone. These pickups are wound to yield much more "growl" from the Bridge pickup. They are very similar in tone to the old Bartolini 94J 4 string pickups, just ever so slighlty brighter at the bridge. Tonally, these have stronger lows and low mids than the typical "vintage" tone.
