I found this under the bed the other day...I haven't used it in years, although it was a main gigging bass when I lived in Atlanta...
Ibanez 1306 six string - around a 97 or 98 (I think). Lane Poor pickups, no preamp installed. Mahogany body, with a Wenge fingerboard over a wenge/mohogany/wenge/mahogany/wenge neck (whew!).
Really solid tone, although I would personally buy an Aguilar OB3 preamp for it. You'd have an amazing 6 string for under 8 bills.
Comes with a molded Ibanez case.

The bass has a pretty focused sound, and the B string fits in with the other strings - very even from bottom to top.

Look, this ain't a Fodera. But it IS a hell of a deal, warts and all.

WRT your Ibanez 1306. Is it 34" scale or 35"? Can't tell from the photos whether some of the controls are missing. Was there once a preamp inside?
Also, how does this compare to the current Ibanez SR506?
Thanks,
Mark |

Thanks,
Mark | It's a 34" scale. There was once a preamp in it. The Ibanez preamp was pretty weak, as were the pickups, so they got swapped out. The preamp then went into another bass, leaving the missing controls.
I haven't played any of the new Ibanezes, but this is a really solid bass - great tone, plays well...it was pretty much the nicest one they made at the time.

The bass is on hold at the moment.
