Ibanez BTB1005 - $350 shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD
Here's a great player that never gets played:
  • Mahogany Body w/ Maple top and back
  • Oil finish
  • Ibanez branded pickups and 18V preamp (not the Barts)
  • Vol, blend, 3-band EQ with sweepable mids
  • Wide, flat neck w/ asymetrical profile
  • 19mm spacing at bridge
  • Dual truss rods
  • 9lbs. on the bathroom scale, which only measure in 1lb increments. Probably closer to 10lbs in reality.
  • includes OHSC and a nice leather strap

The top is worn a bit around the neck pickup (see picture). There are a couple of small nicks along the edge as well. Looking for $350, shipped to conus. Trades considered (especially effects), but not looking for anything in particular.

Pics to follow.

Unbelievable Deal

This people, is a stoopid good price for a BTB bass. Bump. They are extremely capable instruments. As good as a $1k plus Lakland or MIA Fender. Really.

Thanks for the plug. It is a great bass. I'm just a narrow string spacing kind of guy.

Wanna trade for a Washburn XB-600 6er? String spacing is too narrow for me.

PM if interested...

Still available. Here's some info that I wrote in a PM about the bass:

The tone is more warm and full than bright or snappy. It's definitely voice heavily in the low-mids.

I didn't find any problems with the pots, jack, etc. It has a locking jack to prevent accidental cord pulls. I just noticed it's missing one of the four screws that hold the truss rod cover in place. Also, it has straplocks on the bass, but not on the strap. That's the way it came to me and I never bothered to fix it. I've got a set of regular end-pins that I can include if you'd like.

The neck is nice and straight and has a great feel to it. The action is fairly low and I never had a problem with fret buzz. It is set up for fairly high-tension strings. If you like something slinkier, it will probably need a truss rod tweak.

Everything else is strictly cosmetic. I mentioned the wear around the pickup. There's a few other scrapes/scuffs on the body, but nothing out of the ordinary. Structurally, the bass is rock solid.

In all honesty, I'm not a huge fan of the Ibanez pickups and/or preamp that's in it. It's not that they sound bad, I just don't think they're up to par with the rest of the bass. Later models came with the Bart Mk. 1 electronics, and I've read that they were a nice improvement. I had considered swapping some Nordies into it, but decided that I didn't like the wide string spacing.

I probably should have mentioned that I'm not really looking to trade for another bass, sorry. I'm trying to thin the herd. I'm interested in trades that involve effects and lightweight amplification, mostly. But feel free to run any offers by me.
