Japanese-made Roadstar II with the notoriously HUGE sounding pickup (looks like a Dimarzio, but I believe made by Schaller). When I went P-bass shopping I was dead set on buying a Fender MIM P-bass, but this thing was far better to my ears, the build quality was better (80's MIJ, baby! Better IMO than 80s MIA). And the maple FB is just groovy

. Plus way less money.
Passive P-style bass w/P-style neck (wide nut). Black w/white pickguard, maple fretboard w/vintage stain. This is from the 80s and has been played, but not beat. Has some chips through the paint but no wood damage. Most of the wear is along the bottom/outer edge so it's generally not visible while playing. A couple wear spots through the finish on the fretboard. Small ding on the back of the neck I don't feel when playing. The volume pot is a bit crackly unless you leave it all the way up--I think it needs to be replaced so I am knocking $15 off what I was going to ask. Truss rod, tuners etc. are all fine.
One great thing about this bass is the tone knob has a LOT of effect, and the bass can quickly go from more aggressive to Motown thump. Set the knob at about 6.5 for a good solid "regular" P sound. Overall, this bass is loud, full and ballsy. Ideal for hard rock or punk, or reggae/dub with the tone rolled off.
Selling mainly to fund other GAS.
$145 SHIPPED! (CONUS only, sorry). I'll consider trades too.
