IBANEZ SR 406 Soundgear 6 string bass

Serial # 00072165
Made in Korea

This is a bass manufactured in the late 90’s ('97 I believe). I bought it a few years ago as a “novelty” bass and I am selling it because I just don’t play it (I play mostly 5’s). I am the 2nd owner and have played it less than 5 hours. It has been restrung with Ernie Ball 130’s. The action is fast and neck thin and quiet electronics.

It has a solid maple body with natural clear gloss finish and matching headstock. Bolt on, 24 fret maple neck and rosewood fretboard. It has two noiseless passive pick-ups (Stock DX6) and active electronics for EQ (uses one 9 volt battery) master volume and a 4 band EQ (Pick-up Blend, Bass, Mid, Treble). The base is in great condition with minimal wear.

The bass comes with a nice NEW gig bag.

$350 or would consider trade for Roland PK 5

Bump

Will consider trade for nice wireless setup, Steinberger Spirit 5. Have a HSC available for bass instead of gig bag. Show some love for the Ibanez!

String spacing?

The newer Ibanez 6-strings are 16.5mm, other than the slicko 14mm Veasley model... is this one 16.5 as well?

Thanks!

That's the best bang for buck 6 string out there IMHO. Wish I still had mine Good luck with the sale.

406 volume issue

They say the electronics are very nice 'n quiet on these basses.
Too quiet sometimes... My 406 gives about half the volume compared to any of my other basses. Of course I checked batteries, pup height, etc. But no luck yet. The sound is great but, as I said, I would have to up my volume 50% when I plug this bass in.

Would this be a normal SR406 behavior..??

Not sure. This one does not drop. Maybe your pre-amp?

I have the 405 of this same color (light amber). Nice bass. One of the best Korean Ibanez basses I have come across.
