Ibanez SR500

Sign in to disble this ad
$270 shipped. Ibanez SR500 and is an 04 model with the wenge/ bubinga neck which only comes on Prestige models now. This one has been refinished in an ebony finish because I didn't like the brown. I also reinforced the cavity with a piece of 1/16" steel because I didn't like the engineering of the wood being really thin to the top. The back battery cover is missing a small piece of plastic but it still holds the battery and I had a professional local painter paint the headstock decal back on, it looks pretty good but isn't as crisp as the regular one. The bottom pickup has a blemish because I thought at the time I could leave the PUPS in during the stripping stage and I got some citristrip on it. I didn't notice until the next day. It effects nothing except cosmetics, it looks slightly ruff above "Bartolini" and my camera wouldn't pick this up so it is slight. All of the electronics work perfect. The neck is straight and everything is in order for playability. I have owned this for the last four years and played it nearly every sunday at church (between this and another bass). It plays really well and I love it. I just bought two SR505's in the last two weeks so I have to let this one go, I will be refinishing one of those like this one too

This will only be up for a week because I put it on ebay. Just thought I would put here too. If you want it I will end the bay auction. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

The pups and pre are all the original barts. I believe the body wood is mahogany. I had a 655 with the maple top and I thought it sounded a bit thin compared to this.

Why don't I have the cash for this? Killer deal, a 500 for roughly the same price as a new 300!

The pups are MK-1 and I never thought about using a flash light. It picked up the ruff area on the bridge pickup.

The Pre looks exactly the same as what is in my SR505 2009
This is the pre out of the 500

This is the pre out of my 505 which is a 2009 model.

Here is a pic of my 07 sr505 with the sr500 for color difference, but it is a bit more transparent so you can see the wood grain.

I'm 100% sure the body is Mahogany.

Very true about being underrated, I can't say enough about them. Let me know if you are interested, heck it might not sell on ebay who knows.
