Inca Silver Jazz Bass- light nitro relic 625 shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
this bass was built using a mark jenny jazz bass body
MJT Custom Aged Guitar Finishes Photo Gallery
Custom Order Aged Finish on Rplcmt Body 4 Jazz J Bass* | eBay
a finished body runs 375 plus shipping direct from him. these arent sourced from allparts or warmoth and are accurate vintage spec 1 5/8" thick (just like my 62 jazz) and not the 1 3/4" that the other aftermarket companies use.

this is inca silver, thin nitro, light relic. theres some super light checking that doesnt really show up in pics and some super light dings (a couple maybe). super light body. the bass is a hair under 9 pounds even with the 62 reissue reverse tuners that are on the neck. it has a set of fender jaguar j bass pickups in it and a white guard i bought on ebay. the guard doesnt quite sit flush with the heel of the neck.

the neck is a 93 mim fender jazz neck. however, its been COMPLETELY re-worked. it has had the old frets removed, the fingerboard trued and then re-radiused to 7.25" like an old fender neck. its not the more modern 9.5" fender radius. it plays with super low, boutique bass action. a new nut was also made for it. the is a tiny chip on the corner of the e string slot that you can see in one of the pictures, but it is not deep at all and doesnt affect the slot. the string still sits deep in the slot, is secure, and the nick is purely superficial. it also sports a set of reissue reverse gotoh tuners. there is a tiny filled hole where it looks like the drill bit went through the headstock. hardly noticeable in person and thus kind of hard to see in the headstock pic.

the pots are CTS slit shaft. not cheapo splits. however, i cant find one of the volume knobs so its missing the bridge pickup knob.

Any interest in parting out? I'd be interested in just the body.

Just got back from a good jam but criminy I've got to be up early bump and a question:

Very pretty bass, by the way.

How's the balance on a strap when you take your hands off? Will it stay up, seek horizontal, or dive? You mention the body being really light, and the tuners seem like they might be heavy, so I ask. But then I always ask this.

How's the tighter radius feel compared to something more modern? Don't know if I've played a board with that tight a radius.

Are the jaguar pups any different than what I'd find in a typical, modern Jazz bass?

How's the bass sound unplugged?

I don't need another four banger. I don't. I've stopped and looked at this one a few times, though. Sho' nuff's pretty.

balance is great. my 64 p bass is even lighter and it doesnt feel unbalanced either.

unplugged-the word id use to describe its tone is resonant. you can hear the bloom from the light body even unplugged.

neck wise, it feels like a 60's ri (whether a road worn/62 ri/mim60's classic) or whatever. the flatter radius boards kind of hurt my wrist, so the old school radius is the most comfortable to me.

the mij jaquar bass is essentially a jazz bass in a different package, so yeah, sounds typical jazz bass.

some pm's returned bump. all around dimension wise, this bass is closer to my 62 jazz than a 60's classic or road worn. super thin nitro finish and with all the work done on the neck, its total vintage feel.
