I bought this bass recently mostly to have a testbed for giving the Aguilar pickups a listen. Purely out of curiosity, not any need, I pretty much always play my Sadowsky basses these days. No hurry to sell but thought I'd throw it out there in case anybody needs a smokin' boutique type J at a low price. Quality wise, to me, this is somewhere between a Skyline and USA Lakland, with a similar vibe.
This bass has an ash body and its got a nice throaty tone and quick response. The Aggie pickups are great, really clean, clear, and smooth. It is wired vol-blend-tone-tone with one tone control for each pickup. Very functional and lets you get some nice sounds not available on a normal J. Pretty sure the neck is bare wood, its very sleek, smooth, and fast.
Strung with your choice of fresh hi-beams or LaBella flats, with very low action (which I can moderate a bit for you if you have a heavier touch than I do).
Only downsides: doesn't have strap buttons installed (drilled for them, just missing the parts), and shows some player wear.
I'll put it out there at $900 shipped obo.
