Jaydee Fretless RARE!!!!! For Trade

Sign in to disble this ad
I do this with GREAT HESITATION...
I have a 1986 Jaydee Supernatural Series II Mark King bass that I would like to offer for TRADE....
The bass is mahogany with stringers, ebony board fretless. There is a groove under the 'A' string between c and d which prob needs a little attention(I have gotten around it but YMMV)...THis has more options than some as it has neck binding and headstock binding. There are not many of these around and even less in fretless.

The trade list is rather short....

--60's P bass (prefer heavily played)
--early 70's jazz (also heavily played)

I am not looking for anything boutique or over 4 strings.
To have this bass new and imported would be 4000.00 and a 2 yr wait. I have a nice soft square case that it can/will ship in.

Hi, cool bass.
You might want to add "FT" in your title. It took me a while to get this as I was looking for a price...

Thanks, fixed that. I can talk price if you like but I am leaning more towards trade...

IS THIS AN ALEMBIC BASS UNDER A FASHIONABLE NAME! ALSO DO YOU NEED A PRE AMP TO PLAY IT. IT LOOKS SO JET COCKPITISH! FRIGHTENING AND BEAUTIFUL AT THE SAME TIME.

No, it's not an Alembic...this is a UK made bass that is second to none in terms of playability and sound. It has a built in preamp and it rips!!!

Also add a nice early BC Rich Eagle to the list!!! Must be early....Even will consider a Mockingbird as long as it is one of the earliest ones...

Cool bass. What's that tube-like groove between the neck pickup and the neck?

That's called the "Funk Groove"...it was done only on a Series II..it is like a place where it makes slap easier for getting fingers under the strings..

Okay, interesting. I'm guessing that was specific to the Mark King models. I'm also guessing that it doesn't come in handy quite so much on the fretless models! Anyway, Jaydees are, indeed, rare over here - good luck with the trade!

If you know how to play fretless and are in the market, I would jump on this JD.
Not only JDs are rare but fretless are even more so. The tonal variety is impressive, you can find any sound you want in it.

Can you explain the three band filtering; more of an eq or actual filter?
thanks

It seems to me to more like actual filter...but then it has some eq feel as well..
