Jon Hill Custom Elite-5 - Flamed Maple Top

Sign in to disble this ad
You will not see many of these for sale as Jon Hill made most of his basses as custom basses for professional bass players. This one is very close if not in mint condition and the build quality is among the best I have seen. The bass was completed December 2006 and weighs in right around 10 lbs. Here are the specifications:

Hill Custom Guitars Elite Series 5-String Bass:

•Handmade in the USA
•Construction: Bolt-on
•Neck: 35"scale; 24 fret; 16" radius
•Type of frets: jumbo-Dunlop #6100
•Neck Dimensions: 2" @ nut, 2 15/16" @ 24th fret
•Neck Material: Ebony Fretboard and multi laminate neck
•Nut: Brass
•Tuners: Schaller
•Inlays: Abalone pearl 1/4" dot inlays; Side dots
•Body Material: Flamed Maple top with a Walnut back and real wood control cavity cover
•Bridge: ABM 19mm spacing with locking saddles
•Pickups: Bartolini Dual P2 Soapbar
•Hardware: Chrome
•Preamp: Bartolini NTMB 3-band, volume with push/pull Active/Passive, treble, bass, blend, mid, and mid frequency selector 3-way switch
•Case (included): Access Premiere Bass Case

I am primarily looking at selling (everybody needs cash in today's economy) with a price of $1200 shipped. I am not really interested in trades but the right Matt Pulcinella Level 5 Fretted to keep my Matt Pulcinella Level 5 Fretless company may be tempting.

Here's a link to some more high resolution pictures in addition to the two below:

Jon Hill Elite 5 More Pics

My camera skills suck, too much light, colors are actually richer and darker than pictured. These pics do not do the bass justice.

Here is a link to the exact bass with a PJ setup which is more reflective of the true color of this bass.

Cool, another Hill owner. They really are well constructed. The necks are to die for.

I have now listed the bass on eBay with a Buy-It-Now of $1250 plus shipping. I have edited my above listing to reflect a good discount for Talkbass of $1200 shipped. That is a $150 discount from my original asking price. I have also taken some better pictures of the bass. Thank you for your consideration.
