KALA U-BASS - For Sale only--SOLD.

Sign in to disble this ad
The U-bass is SOLD.

Here are some pictures of the actual instrument:

Pictures by rocknsoulbass - Photobucket

It's about 6 months old and has never left my den. I've played it 2 or 3 times for a short period to work out chords or a line, etc. If I hadn't finally found the practice/travel bass I've been seeking for 3+ years, I'd definitely keep this one. It's sounds great and the entire bass (including the back) is literally in new condition.

$395.00 and I'll split shipping and insurance in the continental 48 states. PayPal preferred. Sorry, no trades.

I can't quite tell from the pictures, is that a fretted model or a fretless with lines?

What travel bass did you finally settle on? I've been looking for one for a while.

I'd been looking for a black Danelectro DC for some time and finally found one locally. I primarily bought the Dano to get a particular sound for recording. The Dano is light enough, however, and I use a practice/travel bass little enough, that it will also serve that purpose for my limited needs.

As a true practice and travel bass, the Dano doesn't touch the Kala--which is far shorter and lighter, of course, and has a wonderful deep tone.

This is pretty cool. I have heard some youtube demos of them plugged in and they sound great. I only wonder if people are using expensive pedals or what not to get the sound out of them since it looks like it has a simple preamp. Is this one able to plug in?

Yes, there is jack in the endpin for the custom-made (for Kala) Shadow pickup, with a separate piezo element for each string. I've heard the videos and those aren't pedals. It produces a fantastic deep, full low-end that is a lot like a double bass.

Very cool.

Saturday Bump Live !

All PMs responded. Declared buyer now refuses to respond.

This great sounding, like-new instrument is still available.
