This is a trade feeler only,Here is what I have Ken`s Top of the Line Elite Model
Year: 1999
Model: BSR 5EG
Top: 4AAAA Quilted Maple
Back: 4AAAA Quilted Maple
Core: Walnut w/Mahogany Lams
Finish High Gloss
Electronics: 9volt w/ SP switches
Hardware: Gold
String Spacing: 18mm
Case: Smith HSC
All original factory paper work w/case goodies
Case combo lock still has plastic insert never been set w/Combination number!!
I am second owner, Purchased by original owner and found he was not a 5 string player,Instead of selling he held on to the Bass.
The condition of the Bass looks as if it were just bought from Ken,There are no marks, finish swirls or issues of any kind.Fast player w/low action,Sound sweet w/tight low B.Over all a 9.9 out of 10,9.9 is because it`s not new,But sure could pass as new!.
Only trade interest would be as follows:
MTD 535-24 w/Walnut,Ebony or Spalted top w/ maple neck rosewood or Maple board
Offering Basses must be in as good of shape as the Smith
I have the right to pull this Post if I don`t find the right bass or come to my right mind for wanting to trading this wonderful Bass.I have more pics upon request

I came across this Bass in a local add,Went out to look at it and the rest was history,I asked the original owner if he was sure this was a 99..Lol,I could not believe the condition it was in.The Bass was well cared for the 12 years he had it,and had all the goodies in original bag from Ken!!!,I have had a few offers but nothing that I would give the Bass up for,I am starting to think this bass needs to be with me because I won`t find another like it!!.I will let the post run for a bit more!,If nothing in a couple of day`s this bass stay`s with me,Believe me it won`t hurt me at all to hold on to this bass!!,Here is a few more pics of the bass!,Ken is the Master! |

I was very tempted to see if you would be interested in my 535 (spalted/ash/wenge/wenge) but after changing the strings on it last night I quickly was reminded why I got the MTD in the first place. Both Smiths & MTDs are excellent basses that have different sound characteristics. I've had them both and you can't go wrong with either it's just a matter of preference. Good luck with the trade!
