Up for sale is an amazing bass. I don’t want to sell it, but I really need the money for school.
I don’t think I need to elaborate on how awesome the Kent Armstrong pickups and the Smith pre are I will, however, comment on the peripherals of the bass.
First thing’s first: I have a bad back. I weigh 90 pounds, with my clothes on, wet. Yet I find this bass supremely comfortable, not heavy at all and balances great. As far as playability, this is top shelf craftsmanship and subsequent ridiculously great feel and comfort level from the smooth finish on the neck to the perfect frets to the comfortable contours of the body. The grain on the bass needs to be seen to be believed…it really does the whole “grain dance” as you move the bass around. The figuring is almost like a mix between flame and quilt, and it runs deep into the wood.
This bass is *mint.* I mean, it’s as if Mr. Smith is handing it to you straight from the workbench. The case is equally pristine. One of these was at Bass Central a while ago for $4100 (which is coincidentally the STARTING PRICE listed for the Customs)….with that in mind I think a price of $3000 (or make me an offer! You never know) is fair, shipped and insured. International buyers welcome, but shipping in that case is on you. Please feel free to PM questions or ask them right here in the thread, I will do my very best to answer them for you. Thanks for having a look!

Seriously, whoever ends up with this bass will be very, very happy. If I was any type of 6 string player I'd put in an offer for it. It sounds excellent, and from what I remember quite light as well! Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't the center block hand selected for outstanding resonance? I still can't believe you have this up in the classifieds.
Bump for a GREAT bass, a great player, and a heads up that this is a visual and sonic work of art. |

Someday maybe I'll be able to buy another.
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday.
(Later that day we set sail for America).
If anyone gets that reference it'll be you. |

That's Grandpa telling the family how the Simpsons moved to America. Don't question my knowledge of that show...it's my childhood! |

1. Weight: this bass is light. Very light for a 6. My guess is under 9 lbs, but I would have to weigh it with a better scale than mine to be accurate.
2. Offers: YES, I am willing to listen to offers. I am reasonable, and willing to work with serious buyers to get a deal done. |

For someone willing to work with him, he's actually happy to come down on price quite a bit...well, in the right circumstance at least. Don't take my little testimonial here as an opportunity just throw crap offers and expect them to stick |

Beautiful bass though. I've played my solid maple bolt on bsr5m next to some pretty fancy multi laminate smiths and mine give up nothing to them in the tone or playability department. In fact I like mine better. |

Sounds amazing! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
