KILLER PRECISION BASS - HEAVY RELIC "WARHORSE" !

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been having to sell off some of my "personal basses" lately, and this one is up on the block next. I'm not building basses for sale any more, so this is a rare opportunity to get one.

It is a absolutely smoking late 60's style Precision Bass with a Jazz neck. All nitro lacquer, heavily aged, and the neck is absolutely incredible feeling. This bass is a true joy to play. The sound is pure P Bass with lots of grunt and balls.

Everyone who has played this has preferred it's sound and playability to Nash, Fender CS, etc. It is an absolutely killer bass.

*Warmoth alder body - med/light weight, nitro sunburst finish
*Allparts Jazz neck - heavily rolled edges, feels amazing - aged nitro finish
*Seymour Duncan Vintage Precision Bass pickup
*CTS pots
*Sprague Orange Drop cap
*Fender vintage style threaded saddle bridge
*Gotoh tuners
*Hand cut and aged bone nut
*Includes gig bag
*Weight - medium, probably around 9 lbs. or so +/-

$1300 O.B.O. Shipped in the Continental USA

Lots of pics -

Glad you dig it !

It's a great bass. I might consider a trade + cash for it as well.

I'll be uploading a video demo of it soon.

Quick, sloppy video demo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoBGsTi8Qlo

Please excuse the playing and my "barely out of bed" look....dealing with a bit of food poisoning last night, so I'm definitely "out of it".

Beautiful tone, congrats! You are right, very solid sounding, like a Pbass should.

Thanks guys. I'm sure whoever gets it is gonna love it.

Dave - "Orange Drop" is a high quality capacitor made by Sprague. You can find tons of info I'm sure by searching "Orange Drop", but to sum up - many people think that a high quality capacitor helps make for a smoother taper and better tone when rolled off.

I hope this helps

Really nice tone capacitor known for having the best tone (along with Mallory caps), as opposed to ceramic caps which are cheaper. Not that they're particularly expensive, usually a buck or two vs .50 for a ceramic, but they really do sound great.

It's the Duncan Vintage for P - I think the model is called the SPB1. Nice vintage sound, very "true" to what an old P Bass should sound like IMO.

This one has a .056uF cap in it IIRC.

Hi, and thanks ! - The strings are D'Addario Chromes - 45-100

I really like the tone of the Chromes. Old school, but still have definition.
