Up for sale is my fretted Kinal Kompact 5.
I recently purchased this bass from the LAG and am the original owner. My intent was to use this as a practice bass but in reality, it offers much more. Acoustically, it's volume is adequate for practice or a very quiet solo or duo session. Once plugged in however, it has a very unique voice. The B Band pickup / preamp really capture the acoustic nature of the instrument. And for recording, the B Band sound can be mixed with a miked acoustic sound for even more tones.
While I'd love to keep the bass, I've resolved this year only to keep essential instruments so that's why this is up for sale.
The bass is made with African mahogany and a spruce top. The fretboard is Honduras rosewood and I believe it has a cocobolo overlay on the front and back of the headstock. It has a 30" scale, was designed to have a high C string and is strung with DR Sunbeam short scale strings.
The bass is brand new in every way. The only issue/oddity is that the hardshell case seem too big for the bass. The bass can move when in the case. I did check and was told that it was the original, correct case for the bass. The bass will be secured in the case when shipped to prevent any damage.
The price for this bass is $1,500 which includes shipping and insurance to the lower 48. No trades on this one.
