Well...I think so anyway!
This has been my main bass for about 4 years, but a change in bands now means going back to a Precision for gigs...so this is up for sale!
A lot of you guys have seen or heard this one. Except for the custom color and a pearl pickguard...its a stock CIJ Geddy. No issues at all...plays soooo well, and looks sooo purdy!! No damage, no nicks or dents and no playing issues.
I'm gonna ask $825 firm for this one shipped in the original Fender gig bag (USA only please) As far as trades..."partial maybe" I'm mostly trying to cash out on this one.
I would also sell it with a 2009 Jazz neck (rosewood) or a 2006 Anniversary Edition Precision Bass neck (rosewood) installed and professionally setup for $600 if you don't like the Geddy neck.
Drop me a PM with questions or if you'd like hi-res pics!
Thanks Bro's...Denny

Every one of my basses has the thumbrest actually notched on the bottom and placed directly over the pickup...its something that I've developed a very unique sound with over the years. Playing directly over the pup really adds a lot of definition to your playing...but it also makes mistakes a little more unforgiving

Why does anyone put the thumbrest below the strings?

One of the things Leo 'guessed' was that people would use a pick or their thumb in a downward playing motion (like Monk Montgomery and a few early adoptees did indeed play) Having a 'finger' rest below the strings gave thumb and pick players an 'anchor'. As the overhand fingerstyle became popular players moved the finger rest and it became the 'thumbrest' people are more familiar with - and as a result basses starteed shipping with them on top. At least this is the account I have read in several 'history of the bass/Fender' type books. |

Well done and understood Bro!! Today's playing style (styles) do not lend themselves to a thumbrest placed on the "bottom" side. You would actually be using it with your forefingers! How then...would this be called a thumbrest??
