*NOW FREE SHIP!*The koolest lawsuit!! All blond Gibson SG/EB-3 Copy with MAPLE neck!!

Sign in to disble this ad
NEW PRICE IS $425 W/O HARD CASE....FREE SHIPPING TOO!!

I snagged this last year at an estate sale, stored it with a few other collectable basses that I have, and almost forgot I had it.

I believe it to be an early-mid 70's lawsuit Gibson SG / EB-3 copy. I've never seen one in this combination. Everything works the way it should, quiet volume and tone pots, switch, pups, truss rod, and tuners all check out great!

Good God...this thing sounds HUGE!! The bigass humbucker is the fattest sounding pickup I think I've ever heard, plus the small bridge pup adds just the right amount of treble and mids to make it all work really well.

The maple neck is ABSOLUTELY straight, and fingering and action is low and easy. There is nearly no fret wear. Scale measures at about 33". The neck is not fat, sort of between and P and J bass with very nice action.

Has some small nicks, but you honestly can't even see them from about 2 feet or more.

I think its all original, but I haven't taken anything apart to check.

Price is $475 + shipping for this one, and will include a kool vintage oxblood-color hard case.

Thanks Bro's....Denny

Based solely on the pics I'd say your bridge is similar but way better (). More adjustment options. Probably better intonation too.
What is the string spacing at the bridge and the nut width??

Yup...thats a good observation. I never even touched the intonation, but without trying it with a tuner...it seems like its right on.

The nut is: 1 1/2"

String spacing @ bridge is: 11/16"

The neck is VERY comparably to a Jazz Bass, both in width & thickness and overall feel. It's a very nice, easy playing neck.

Could you hit us up with thickness, in mm, right at 1st and 12th frets?

I'd gladly do so...if I had a way of measuring it.

It is VERY comparable to a good Jazz Bass neck.

Can you measure the distance between the nut and the 12th fret? That is how to measure the scale length and is not affected by intonation. Multiply by 2 for the correct scale length, so 16"x2=32" scale, 16.5"x2=33" scale, etc

Darren....it measures 16 1/4" from the nut to the center of the 12th fret.
