34ish scale (b-string is almost at 35")
weighs a svelte 7 pounds.

Can you describe the tone at all? How are the controls set up?

The treble, mid, bass tone knobs are boost & cut.
The other knob is volume and the switch is a pickup selector.
The tones range from a smooth Jazz to a seriously growly Stingray.

Pretty. Intriguing.

Are the "smile" frets supposed to work something like fanned frets, or is there another rationale behind them?

The smile frets help with cords and bending notes. They are also supposed to help with intonation in the upper range.

Thanks for the explanation. If this were a fretless, I'd find it seriously difficult to resist. I'm salivating just a little as it is.

That looks painful -- and I'd prefer no lines. But it is a beautiful bass.
