I COULD NOT EDIT THE TITLE TO MY LAST THREAD SO I CLOSED THAT ONE AND STARTED THIS ONE
LAST PRICE DROP......close to buying another lakie and need to move this!
Up for sale is a very unique Lakland.
I really love all of my basses (including this one) but I am really missing having a 55-94 fretted bass in the family.
As such, something has to go.
Here are some specs:
2010 Lakland Double J (RARE - can only get via special order) with:
a) A special order Brazillian rainforest rosewood fretboard (this is not the "standard" beautiful Lakie rosewood fretboard....it came from a special piece of wood that only 2 necks were made from.....it is exceptionally beautiful...Carl Pedigo (former Lakland Luthier) mentioned to me that you do not find wood like this too often. The neck is also not bound....another rarity in blocked Lakies! )
b) Hard to find (and exceptionally beautiful) Abalone blocks that match the teal color very well.....in fact the color of this bass was chosen due to the color in the abalone blocks. The sparkle of the teal really matches well with the glimmer of the blocks...
c) One of a kind custom pickguard that accents the abalone blocks and the teal. This is the ONLY pickguard like this and i doubt there will be any others...
d) Matching headstock for that "finishing touch"....
e) Pre-routed cavity in case you want to make it active.
I got this new in May/June and it really has not got much play time for a variety fo reasons so it is really as good as new! I would say 9.8 out of 10 for condition.
Retail on this is over $4K (not to mention the headstock and pickguard which were added after I bought it)!
I will sell it for
$2800 $2600 $2500 $2400 MAKE ME A REASONABLE OFFER (which i can accept or refuse!)
shipped with a Lakie US case.....
I already have a 55-94 I am eyeing and need the cash to make this happen.....
Here are a few pics:
The following were taken at the recent GTG at Lakland:

And here you can get a good idea of the "total package":
And....here are shots of some of the blocks so you can "kind" of see the depth and color to them:
a little closer look at the pickguard:
MAY consider trading this for:
55-94 Deluxe (or with unique finish). LH3 preferred OR pre-2000 Barts. Any blocks or other options would be a huge plus.
Bass MUST be in good/great condition.
PM me with any questions or offers (either trade or cash).
Thanks for looking!
Peace:
Doug
