Lakland 44-02 Deluxe, Cherry sunburst, Barts.SOLD

Lakland 44-02 Deluxe, Cherry sunburst, Bartolini pickups and preamp. Beautiful condition, great sound, very nice quilted top and light swamp ash body (not at all like many of the heavy hard ash bodies on a lot of Skylines). This bass is really cool and it’s making me nuts to let it go, but I need to invest in gear that meets immediate needs. If it were a 5er, you wouldn’t see it here.

Not brandy new, but superbly kept (not sure what year it was built). No dings, just minor (invisible to pics) swirls in the logical places, etc. A definite 9 out of 10. Plastic still on the back cavity cover. Bought from TBer Tycobb around Labor Day, ’09. This bass is almost too pretty to take into a lot of places I play in. The sound is what I think of when I think of swamp ash – smooth bottom, punch, nice mids and very pretty “detailed” highs. It cuts through the mix very well (against overbearing rock guitars in my classic rock band) and it can do a good transparent sound for recording. If you want a 44-02, this is the best I’ve ever played. BTW - the fretboard is very pretty, detailed rosewood. For some reason this didn't photograph well. Just oiled it - it looks great.

Hard case is definitely not Lakland, shows wear on the outside, but great inside. I’m firm on getting what I put into it: $800 plus shipping. Paypal’s preferred.
SOLD - THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST!

You're killin' me. I really need to raise cash for gear that's part of the plan, but I'll give your Lakland a little thought...

No problem, just let me know if you have any questions or anything else. I have some pics up if you need those too. G/L!

Bump for MY old bass! No kidding! I sold it to TYCOBB!

It is indeed a super looking bass in person! Great feeling Lakland neck!

Seriously light. In the 8 lb range, but beefy sounding. This is an excellent piece of swamp ash (also very pretty in person). If you have a serious interest, PM me - I'll get out the bathroom scale and give you a more accurate weight (I'm at work now).
