I can't believe I am considering this.
Offering my Lakland 55-94 that I have owned for a couple years. Nicest bass I have ever had my hands on. Plays like a dream and sounds amazing but I have to admit I have trouble with 19mm 5-strings. Planning to go back to 4's with Jazz style neck.
Had a Aquilar ODB-3 preamp professionally installed to go along with the Nordstrand pickups I bought it with. Has 2 dings on the headstock that I tried to picture. ( One near the "L" and the other near the "D" string post.) Couple swirls in the finish and minor scratches by the pickups. Lightweight swamp ash body with curly maple top. Quartersawn maple neck, birds-eye fingerboard and graphite stiffening bars. The most stable neck I have ever seen.
Weight: Get this, this bass is really light but I never weighed it till tonight. Since I see everyone asking this question here I did so. 7.67 pounds! I weighed it 3 times because I didn't believe it. 7.67, 7.68, 7.67 pounds. Wow!
Has a new set of Ken Smith Compressors installed and comes with a Lakland tweed and leather case in great condition. Asking $2000.00 shipped in ConUS only. I will consider shipping elsewhere for an upcharge if no sale in the US. Payment via Paypal is fine.

I have already received a couple PM's asking for soundclips. However, I have no way to record at the present I'm afraid.
Here is a clip that I think nails the tone of this bass IMO. ‪Tori Amos - Taxi Ride‬‏ - YouTube
Granted this guy is a monster player and I can't hold a candle to him but here it is. The warm round lows with the growl that you can get by digging in just a bit. The fullness of the tone with sliding notes down the neck. Yep, that's the tone. |

It had a Bart preamp in it originally and I admit I hated it. Sounded muffled and wooly. The lows were boomy and I found myself cutting frequencies. May have been something wrong with the Bart I don't know but the OBP-3 cleaned up the sound bigtime. Added punch and clarity with a multitude of usable tones. This bass sounds absolutely great.
Now that I think of it, one thing I can say about the Nordie's is I have never even considered a pickup change... And I have changed out PU's in every bass I have ever owned. |

I do have my eye on a new local Fender American deluxe at a great price. (Olympic white/Rosewood) The neck fits me like a glove. Have to be honest, I just don't play the 19mm 5-string necks well and that's the only reason I am considering doing this.
I reserve the right to have second thoughts, (already happening) and taking this off the block. |

One of my sound guys favorite basses!!! It is a 34" scale instead of 35" like the new ones are now. One of only 3 made with the piezo from that period as I understand it. Has been my main 5 for a while but would love to have your 594 to go along with my 494! Had a 594 just like this one and sold it like a fool!!
Peace,
T

T | Thanks for the offer but I am number one interested in Fender Deluxe Jazz basses, Fender Custom Shop Jazz, or Sadowskys. |
