Lakland Bob Glaub

I'm stealing all of this from the original thread Lakland Bob Glaub

This bass is great and drove me to try out a Lakland Jazz. This has caused GAS to get the better of me and I need to sell this to have cash on hand for the right Lakland Jazz. As is mentioned in the below, this has its share of superficial battle scars (mostly on the sides of the bass), but its an incredible players bass.

Quote:
Own a piece of history, Misty the Nashville flood restoration is up for sale!

Her beautiful Burgundy Mist alder body & knobs are all that made it through the devastation.

With a little help from Leo, Bo & Carl at Lakland she’s been given a makeover & a 2nd breath of life.

Retrofitted with a Skyline neck (same year as the body ’08), Hanson Vintage P pickup, new pots, pickguard, used bridge & finished off with a set of US all chrome Ultralites.

She’s super light weighing in at 8.3 lbs on the digital scale, but doesn’t sound like a feather weight at all, big beefy classic P bass tone with all the trimmings.

All the superficial battle scars were left for character & tribute.

Spec recap:
US Alder body in Burgandy Mist
Skyline Decade neck 1.5" Jazz (Plek’d!)
Hanson Vintage P pickup
US Hipshot Ultralites & D-Tuner (all chrome)
New passive electronics
Weight 8.3 lbs.
$1050 Shipped in a serviceable HSC, if you want something nicer, then I will pick up a better case from GC for a little extra, PayPal is good

Bunch more pictures in the original thread as well:

Did this bass (or part of it) once belong to Tim Marks?

Bump for a beautiful piece of history!

Yes, the body is from his extensive salvage operation. This is a killer bass, only reason I sold it was my duplicate bass policy.

So what's the story behind this bass?

If I recall correctly, a warehouse in Nashville, where many pros store their gear, was flooded and most of the instruments were either lost or damaged. This bass was a US made Lakland belonging to Tim Marks. It's body and knobs were all that was salvageable due to severe water damage. The guys at Lakland agreed to refurbish it and give it a new lease on life. I believe that proceeds from it's sale went to help victims of the flood.

....and if I keep coming back to this thread I may just have to buy it myself. What a beautiful bass!
