Back on the block is this beautiful 2009 Lakland Darryl Jones 4 string bass. I have gigged with it, it sounds great and really cuts through a live band mix. Most notably, it weighs only 7.13 pounds! This is probably the lightest solid body bass I have ever held. Here is a detailed list of everything you should know:
-2009 Lakland "AC" Darryl Jones 4 string bass
-Lakland pickups
-Super light weight
-Standard Lakland 10" radius fret board
-Plek'd
-Great slapper, the best of my bunch (and I have a pre-EB Stingray!)
-The neck pickup was replaced by Lakland, as I broke the winding on the original (same difference). Now it works fine and sounds great.
-I shimmed the neck (either with construction paper or business card stock) to achieve the desired neck angle and it plays beautifully with nice low action.
-Currently strung with Ernie Ball Super Slinky 45-100 (I once had the bass strung with 40-95 chrome flats and I was able to achieve super ridiculously low action with that set up).
-The original nut was poorly cut on the E string, so I had it replaced with a new tusk nut, now everything is super tight.
-The bass is really clean, but there is some buckle rash on the back (won't show up in a photo), although nothing that can't be buffed out.
-Purchased from another TBer.
-Includes generic tweed hardshell case.
I will include the neck pick up bell cover if you want that, but let me know (because I would just as soon keep it).
Selling because I have my eye on a nice Road Worn Jazz and I prefer the 7.25" radius feel.
It's a really nice bass, and everyone who picks it up seems to agree, I just like Fenders.
Priced to sell at $899 shipped.
