hey every body,
Im getting a new u.s. lakland and need to recoupe some funds. i was trying to sell my U.S. 4-94 but things are moving slow in the Upper end market, and i aint gonna give it away.
so i guess we'll try with the BG4
I have alot of love into this bass, with a new pickgaurd and i refinished the neck to U.S specs with a tung oil finish. this bass feels just as nice as any of my U.S. laklands, really!!
the bass is in nice shape, it has been played though and if you hold it up in the light you can see a few small scratches on the back, all pretty minor and nothing through the paint
the front is scratch free, except on the pickgaurd. there is one small scratch on the picgaurd but again, pretty minor and i am incuding the stock white(mint ) gaurd.
fralin pickups 2005 build.9.5 lbs $700 shipped in the Cont. U.S. in a Lakland/levy's gigbag. will be pack well and insured. SOLD

Sorry but i've only owned 1 lakie before,so how did you bring the neck to US specs? She's a beauty.

2) This is subjective but.. there's nowhere around here to try a Lakland P-style anything. I tried a Joe Osborn the other day and it played great but the sound was really dark. I played a Fender Road Worn '50s Precision and it had way more upper mids that I liked. Have you played one of those, or the Joe Osborn? Any thoughts?
I'm debating between these:
-Glaub, skyline
-Duck Dunn, skyline
-Fender RW 50s P, classic 50s P, (can't afford a American Vintage yet) |

for the sound, be your own judge. http://www.lakland.com/ac_glaub.htm

In all seriousness, I'm trying to see if this is doable for me. I've been looking for a good Glaub, and I doubt there's a better Skyline Glaub out there.

What is minimal to one person, may not be to another (and some people wear frets way faster than others so to them it's minimal cause all their axes are worn in)...
Sorry, but this is only going for studio use + I'm a guitar tech so intonation stuff is rather obvious in this setting.
.... Oh, and do you know the weight of this one?

Or maybe my technique is too slanted (double jointed fingers affect things).
Anyway, think I'm going to have to snag a Dunn instead. |
