Lakland Skyline Hollowbody

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a mint condition Skyline Hollowbody in Trans Burgandy. This is the newer model with the Chi Sonics. It has never been gigged (or even out of the house) and has only a few total hours of play time on it. Easily the best playing hollowbody I've ever picked up and in a great looking, great sounding 34" body.

For sale only - $1175 shipped

That price includes the TKL hardshell case it originally shipped with. Currently strung with TI flats but I can swap out (or include) a set of DR Flats if desired.

Some of the specs:

2-piece body construction
CS Series Chi-Sonic pickups
Volume, tone, and 3-way toggle controls
34" scale length
20 frets
Fretwork done via PLEK
Flat-sawn Canadian maple neck
Carved mahogany back and sides, carved maple top
Rosewood fingerboard
Hipshot Licensed Ultra-Lites tuners

Some pictures (the flash is highlighting some fingerprint smudges but this bass is in perfect condition):

Thanks for looking!

You didn't see my big sale of Dead memorabilia?

No relation (and a slightly different last name) but I'd love to try his Ritter some time!

Wish I could play guitar at all as I've always been a big fan of the Les Paul's looks and tone, but unfortunately I have no use for the skinny stringer.

I don't know that there's another hollowbody that plays as easily as the Lakland. No fighting with it or having to change my right hand technique significantly. It just plays like butter with a great classic tone.

I've received 4 different trade offers that were all very tempting but I'm only selling it to cover the deposit on a new custom.

Lots of nibbles, but no bites. Time for a bump.

I have one in the Sunburst finish. Guys, these are the best recording basses. The Chi Sonics can't be beat. The amazing part of these is that they are so versatile for a hollowbody. Rounds vs flats and it is a totally different bass. Sounds superb either way.
