Got this one from Chef a little while ago. I'm digging it but would like to pick up another SR5. Here's the back story on this one:
I got this on a trade deal with Chef. Unbeknownst to him, the truss rod was creeping out of the back of the neck at the headstock. It took a pro-guitar tech to point it out to me to find it. So I don't fault Chef on this at all. So anyways, I contacted Lakland about the neck issue. They had me ship the bass back to them where they installed a brand new neck on this thing. It's a
brand new indo neck like on the current Skyline models. It has been plek'd and set up by Lakland. It plays absolutely amazingly and sounds fantastic. This is an older JO5. 2002 model with Lindy Fralin pickups that sound amazing! Much better than the newer Lakland pickups, IMO of course (and I have had both now). I know I'll kick myself if I do trade this out, but I'm really itching for an SR5 again. It's seen it's share of use, has some bumps here and there as to be expected from lots of use, but nothing major. Again, the neck is brand new and the frets and setup are amazing!!!!! comes with a Levy's Lakland gig bag.
For trades, I'm looking for a Music Man Stingray 5 w/ rosewood board (maple boards considered). would also consider a Warwick Thumb5 (no other wicks please). If you're looking for a killer J5, this is it!
ok...adding to my list of possible trades +/- cash either way depending on the deal: Lakland Skyline Decade, MIA Fender P or Jazz (preferably from 2008 or newer), Lakland Glaub (one of the few rare PJs would be awesome), Roadworn P or J, a Ric (doubtful, but I'll through it in there), and Fender RI basses...75J, 62J, 62P, 57P,etc...51P maybe...
my moments are changing...thinking of putting a price tag on this one...
$950 + shipping? maybe...

sorry for the bad blurry Iphone shot on this one.
