Women will throw their clothes on stage, soundmen will step aside as you walk by, and guitarists will begrudgingly nod as they turn their volume knob to 11 to compete...
Up for sale is a Lakland 4-94. It's one of the "Super Deluxe USAs" built in 1999. This one is number "99-08," #8 of 20.

The story behind these is that Lakland was toying with the idea of developing a line even above the USA model (akin to Fender's Custom Shop) but didn't pursue it beyond these 20, as their focus shifted to expansion of new models.
This bass is an example of the finest work Lakland is capable of. It's got all the trimmings of a USA model with even greater attention to detail:
*First of all this bass is ridiculously light. (exact weight to come,
going to use a physician scale, not bathroom scale).
*Limited emerald green finish, not available on other models
*The top is VERY quilted, and a deep quilt at that.
*The back is one-piece ash
*The neck is a great quartersawn cut, as you can see on the
headstock (color matched to body, quality touch)
*The slab fingerboard is an awesome, smooth feeling piece of
rosewood, with birdseye maple dots
Currently strung up with brand new Lakland rounds. There is NO fretwear. This bass is pristine. You wouldn't think it to be 11 minutes out of the factory let alone 11 years.
I'd like to get $XXXX for it (I'll work with you on the price). Of course the original hard shell case comes with the bass, and that too is in fantastic condition. As far as trades go, I'm pretty much set, so I'll most likely respond with a "no thanks" but you can always try. I'd be happy to speak with anyone further, just PM me and we'll exchange numbers.
Thanks for having a look, I know whoever gets this bass will be extremely happy and satisfied with it.
