OK.. I have two Lakland US JO4s here, one fretted and one fretless.
The specs are the same on each:
* Body: Alder
* Neck: Quartersawn Maple w/graphite reinforcement
* Fingerboard: East Indian Rosewood (fretless - with Birdseye Maple Inlays and fretlines, epoxied)
* Finish: Three Tone Translucent
* Electronics: Lindy Fralin Passive Jazz (stacked knobs v/t v/t)
* Year: 1999(fretted) 2005(fretless)
The fretted is an early production JO, JO80. These are hard to come by. They have the Joe sig on the head and this one he played and signed. I was going to get one of mine defretted once and the guys at Lakland warned me, saying that stock early JOs will appreciate in value greatly over the next decade.
The fretless is a 2005. It was defretted and epoxied at Lakland earlier this year. They did a superb job. It has a very unique voice with flats, but I have DR Sunbeams on it now. It gets that killer "mwah" without destroying the board.
