Lakland USA JO Fretless (Feeler)

Sign in to disble this ad
  • Body: Alder
  • Neck: Quartersawn Maple w/graphite reinforcement
  • Fingerboard: East Indian Rosewood with Birdseye Maple Inlays and fretlines, epoxied.
  • Finish: Three Tone Translucent
  • Electronics: Lindy Fralin Passive Jazz (stacked knobs v/t v/t)
  • Weight: around 9.2 pounds
  • Year: 2005

It's a 2005 in fantastic condition. It was originally fretted, but I had it defretted and epoxied at the Lakland shop earlier this year. They did a great job. The bass plays smooth and sounds great. I had rounds on it for less than a week before putting La Bella flats on. Captures that Osborn vibe for sure.
Incredibly well balanced and resonant. Comes with G&G hardcase (not with Lakland Logo) and pickup cover. Lindy Fralin J pickups. I can't find a ding on the body.

Now, the only reason I'm considering selling is that i have a glaub p/j here which I want to defret. I don't really need two fretless basses...

$2050 shipped
not really looking for trades, but send along offers. I might consider
US Lakland JOs (ash) or Glaubs
4-76 maybe

PM me with any questions

Look at that fingerboard!

Ok, I uploaded some vids. Now, the webcam sucks so the sound quality isn't what it could be. Those crackles aren't from your speakers or the bass/amp. It's all the webcam being unable to hold my "funk". I hope they help though... don't mind the playing either. Scotty One-take isn't feeling so hot tonight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNCjXVeHe5Q <-- butchering blackbird (mostly bridge pu)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP_ugAQkIx0 <-- butchering ballad (mostly neck pu)

after spending all night playing this beast, I'm on the edge of keeping it. Especially if I throw some chi-sonics or dark stars in there.
In the videos, I go from the lakie right into a crappy Ampeg ba112
