Exclamation Landing Bass w/DarkStar pickups**PRICE DROP**

Sign in to disble this ad
This bass was made for me in 2004 by Jimmy Wilson at Landing Guitars. Financial necessity dictates sale. My son is a tournament tennis player who is rising fast. I need to sell some stuff to raise the funds to help him get to the next level (tournament fees, lessons, tennis camps, travel expenses, equipment, etc.). I'm hoping his career takes off and he'll be able to buy me bass stuff when I'm old (well, *older* anyway).

  • 32" scale
  • weighs approx. 7 1/2 lbs.
  • beautiful vintage white finish
  • tortoise shell pickguard
  • dual DarkStar pickups
  • light-weight swamp ash body
  • figured maple neck and headstock
  • rosewood fingerboard
  • Hipshot bridge and tuning machines
  • hardshell case included
  • strung with TI Jazz Flats
  • strap locks included

Originally an L332 model, Jimmy reconfigured the bass in 2007 as the first LDS2 with dual DarkStar pickups. It is near perfect condition, with the only one *tiny* finish dent near the bridge that is not even through the paint (see pic below). Fast, comfortable neck in 32" scale-- this bass plays like a dream!

$1,350 shipping incl. (CONUS only) ***NEW PRICE $1,150***
PayPal preferred.

additional pics

The figuring on the neck and headstock is especially nice on this bass, and the vintage white is 'spot on'. Jimmy Wilson's finishes are among the best I've seen!

Here's the finish dent near the bridge-- it is unnoticable from even a foot or two away. This is the only defect-- the rest of the bass is perfect.

Thanks J! It's a great bass for sure. The neck is one of the most comfortable I've found and at 7.5lbs it's easy on the back!

DarkStars are passive pickups and the tone controls on this bass are as well.

Two things to note about this aspect of the DS's:
  • the output is already plenty hot enough, so no additional gain from an onboard preamp is necessary;
  • Fred Hammon (the inventor and manufacturer of DarkStar pickups) recommends passive tone controls with them.
